Zurvo

What a missed call actually costs you.

The plain money math on missed calls and after-hours inquiries for a small business: one missed job can dwarf a month of Zurvo. Run your own numbers.

Every business owner knows the feeling. You are on a job, or asleep, or with your family, and the phone rings — and by the time you see it, they have already called someone else. That missed call was not nothing. It had a dollar value. This page is about putting a number on it.

We are not going to quote you industry stats or made-up averages. The only numbers that matter here are yours. So we will walk through the math with plain examples, and then point you to a calculator you fill in yourself.

The one number that changes everything.

Start with a single question: what is one job or sale worth to you, on average?

For a lot of small businesses, one job is worth more than a whole month of a lot of tools. So the real question is not “can I afford a chatbot,” it is “can I afford to keep missing the jobs I am already missing?”

Zurvo’s Launch plan is $39 a month. Hold that number in your head while we do the math.

A missed emergency job vs. $39 a month.

Say you run a home-services business and your average job is worth $400. A pipe bursts at 9pm. The customer types their problem into three websites. Two of them have no answer until morning. Yours answers in ten seconds, tells them you cover their area, and grabs their number.

  • One job saved: $400.
  • A month of Zurvo: $39.
  • The gap: that single job paid for Zurvo ten times over, with $361 left.

You did not need to catch a hundred inquiries. You needed to catch one you would have lost.

A quieter example, same shape.

Not every business is emergencies. Say you run an appointment business — a salon, a clinic, a studio — and a new client is worth $150 over their first few visits. You miss maybe three inquiries a week after hours, and one of those three would have booked.

  • One booked client a week you would have missed: ~$150.
  • Over a month: roughly $600 in bookings you were leaving on the table.
  • A month of Zurvo: $39.

Again — these are example numbers to show the shape of it. Yours will be different. The point is that the price of the tool is small next to the value of one job, and most businesses miss more than one.

The math, in one line.

Here is the whole thing:

(inquiries you miss that would have booked) × (what one job is worth) − (the monthly price) = what you get back.

If the left side is bigger than the right, the tool pays for itself. For most service and appointment businesses, it is not close — one saved job covers the month.

Run your own numbers.

We built a calculator so you do not have to trust our examples. You put in:

  • how many inquiries you miss in a typical week,
  • what share of them would have booked,
  • what one job or sale is worth,
  • and which plan you are looking at.

It shows you what you could recover each month at a few conservative capture rates, and how many jobs the plan has to save before it pays for itself. Your numbers, not ours — we do not publish fake benchmarks.

Open the missed-call calculator and see your own break-even.

Why “conservative” is the honest way to do this.

It would be easy to plug in rosy numbers and show a giant return. We do the opposite. The calculator assumes the chatbot only captures a fraction of your missed inquiries — because it will not catch every one, and honest math is the only math worth acting on.

Even at the low end, the picture usually holds: if one job is worth well more than the monthly price, you do not need a high capture rate for the tool to pay for itself. That is the whole reason the math works for small businesses — the price is fixed and small, and the value of what you are missing is not.

What Zurvo actually does with a missed inquiry.

To be clear about what you are paying for: Zurvo does not replace you closing the job. It catches the inquiry you would have lost.

  • It answers the customer’s real question instantly, at 9pm, drawn from your own website — so they do not click away to the next business.
  • It captures their name and number so the lead is yours.
  • When it is not sure, it hands off to you instead of guessing, so you are not cleaning up wrong answers.

The booking still happens your way. You just get the shot at it instead of losing it to whoever answered first.

See what it would catch for you.

The fastest way to know if this is worth it is to run your own numbers, then try it on your own site for a few days and watch what comes in.

Frequently asked questions.

How do I figure out what a missed inquiry costs me?

Take the average value of one job or sale, and multiply by how many inquiries you miss in a typical week that would have booked. Even one missed job a month is usually worth far more than a month of Zurvo. Use your own numbers, not ours — our calculator does the math for you.

Does the chatbot actually book the job, or just answer questions?

It answers the customer's questions instantly and captures their name and number so you can close the job. The booking still happens the way it always did — a call back, a quote, a scheduled visit — but now you have the lead instead of losing it to the next business they call.

How many jobs does Zurvo need to save to pay for itself?

Usually less than one. The Launch plan is $39 a month. If your average job is worth more than $39 — and for most service and appointment businesses it is worth a lot more — then catching a single job you would otherwise have missed covers the whole month, with the rest being profit.

Do you have stats on how much other businesses recover?

No, and we will not make them up. Every business is different — your average job value, your after-hours volume, and how many of those inquiries would have booked are yours, not an industry average. That is exactly why we built a calculator you fill in with your own numbers instead of publishing fake benchmarks.

What if I only get a few inquiries a week after hours?

Then the math is simple: how much is one of those jobs worth? If a single after-hours inquiry that turns into a booked job is worth more than the monthly price, the plan pays for itself the first time it catches one. Fewer inquiries just means each one matters more.
