See what data Zurvo stores and how long it's kept.

A plain-language rundown of the data Zurvo keeps — conversations, leads, trained knowledge, uploads, and logs — and honest answers on how long each is kept.

Zurvo stores the data it needs to answer your visitors, capture leads, and show you what’s happening — nothing more. This page lists what’s kept and, honestly, how long each type is retained.

What Zurvo stores

Conversations and messages. Every chat between a visitor and your chatbot, including the visitor’s questions, the bot’s answers, and metadata like the page the visitor was on. Handoff conversations that reach your team are stored here too.

Leads. Contact details a visitor shares — name, email, phone, and their message — captured automatically or through the proactive lead form, along with where each lead sits in your pipeline.

Trained knowledge. The content you train your chatbot on: pages Zurvo crawls from your website and documents you upload, plus the processed chunks and embeddings Zurvo uses to find relevant answers. This is your knowledge base.

Uploads. Files visitors attach in chat (images the bot can read) are kept in a private storage bucket — never publicly listed. Zurvo displays them through short-lived signed links (valid for about seven days), and generates a fresh link on demand when one expires.

Usage and operational logs. Records of message volume (used for your monthly usage meter), plus error, audit, and rate-limit logs that keep the service running and secure.

How long it’s kept

This is the important, honest part:

Your content is kept until you delete it. Conversations, leads, and trained knowledge stay in Zurvo until you remove them or delete your account. There is no automatic conversation deletion and no fixed retention window that quietly erases your history — your data is there when you come back to it.

Only operational logs are cleaned on a schedule. To keep the system lean, Zurvo periodically removes older operational logs — error, audit, and rate-limit records — after a retention period. This cleanup only ever touches those log tables. It never deletes your conversations, leads, knowledge, or uploads, and it never touches the message counts behind your billing.

You’re in control of removal

You decide what to keep and what to remove:

  • Delete individual leads, conversations, or knowledge documents from the dashboard at any time.
  • Export your data before removing anything, from Billing & Account.
  • Delete your account to remove your data entirely.

Because you own removal, take a moment before deleting — once you delete a conversation, lead, or document, it’s gone. Export first if you want a copy.

Where isolation fits in

Everything above is stored inside your organization, which is a hard boundary — no other business can reach it. For how that separation is enforced and how Zurvo protects your data, see How Zurvo isolates and protects your data.

Frequently asked questions.

Does Zurvo delete old conversations automatically?

No. Your conversations, leads, and trained knowledge are kept until you delete them or delete your account — there's no automatic conversation deletion or retention window. Only operational logs (error, audit, and rate-limit records) are cleaned up on a schedule.

How do I remove my data from Zurvo?

You control it. Delete individual leads, conversations, or knowledge documents from the dashboard, or delete your account to remove your data. You can also export your data first — see Billing & Account for export and account-deletion options.

How long do visitor photo uploads stay accessible?

Visitor images live in a private storage bucket. Zurvo generates short-lived signed links (valid for about seven days) to display them; after a link expires, a new one is generated on demand. The files themselves are kept with the conversation until you delete it.
